The theatrical market place is, however, dominated by major studio releases led by Hollywood’s top players.
The studio system remains entrenched in older business practices with notorious ‘studio accounting’, systemically under-reported margins and vertical pricing structures.
Technologies are breaking down traditional distribution barriers and re-create a new order (e.g. simultaneous global theatrical or secondary US theatrical releases, VOD streaming models, collapsing DVD markets, etc.).
Smarter Financing,including rebates and tax incentives, help mitigate investor risk and are available globally and in 40 US state jurisdictions.

Studios focus on fewer but larger (‘tent pole’) remakes and comics-based productions. This vastly improves opportunities for competent producers to procure talent and production resources.
